Who doesn’t love the taste of pickled eggs? Who knew that there were so many ways to make pickled eggs, I didn’t? If you love pickle eggs then you need to try this recipe.
Pickled eggs are cured in either vinegar or in brine after the eggs are hard-boiled. Pickling eggs was a way to preserve eggs so people could eat them months later. Pickled eggs are popular as snacks or as hors d’oeurves at parties, bars, taverns, and pubs.
Pickled eggs are easy and fun to make. Growing up, I remember helping my mom and grandmothers make these eggs for family and holiday get-togethers. Sometimes my mom and I just made them for us to snack on since pickled eggs were my dad’s favorite food. We would pickle eggs for holiday and family get-togethers like Christmas, Thanksgiving, the 4th of July, or any other time we got together. They were always a hit and usually, they were all eaten.
This is the first time making these eggs. Usually, when I make eggs I just use the juice leftover after we finish eating the pickles. I wanted to surprise my husband with pickle eggs but didn’t have any pickle juice so I went online to find a simple and easy recipe. I found several that I liked so I used the herbs and spices that I liked to make them. By doing this I was able to use what I liked and how much I wanted to use. This is the recipe that I came up with.
